Joshua Lam is a lawyer and human rights advocate. He is currently legal counsel at Sage Legal, in Victoria, BC, where his practice focuses on indigenous rights, non-profit/charity law, and social justice issues. Prior to moving to Victoria, BC, he worked in Alberta, focusing on poverty law and access to justice issues with Pro Bono Law Alberta and Calgary Legal Guidance. He has a strong interest in international justice issues, and in 2011 was selected as an international intern with the Canadian Bar Association, where he was posted in Kenya. He eventually went on to live and work in Nairobi, Kenya, with the Kenyan Section of the International Commission of Jurists, focusing on International Criminal Justice, Access to Justice, and International Human Rights Issues. He currently serves as the LRWC monitor for Viet Nam, and is also involved in LWRC initiatives with the International Criminal Court. He holds a B.Sc. (Biology), BA (Philosophy), and JD from the University of Alberta, and an MA (Philosophy) from York University.
