Deeply shocked we are by the brutal killing on 28 November of our colleague lawyer TAHİR ELÇİ who was President of the Diyarbakır Bar Association. We, the undersigned, lawyers organizations from all over the world would like to pay our condolences to his family and colleagues with whom he worked on human rights issues and pay tribute to his determined work to protect the rights of others and promote respect for the rule of law.
