Leo McGrady Q.C. is counsel with Koskie Glavin Gordon in Vancouver, British Columbia. He received his degrees from the University of Toronto and the University of Manitoba.
He represents unions, employees, NGOs, journalists and media on labour relations, class actions, human rights, as well as privacy, FOI and defamation issues.
He has written and spoken in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and Europe on a variety of subjects, including the law of copyright, and on the impact of trade agreements on human rights and labour law. He is the author of what has been described as the standard text on the law of protest, and has delivered workshops on the subject throughout BC and elsewhere in Canada for many years. Mr. McGrady has argued cases at all levels of Courts in British Columbia and the Yukon. He has also been counsel on a number of precedent setting Charter/ labour law cases at the Supreme Court of Canada.
Mr. McGrady has taught at the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia, Capilano University and Simon Fraser University. He is an Associate with the University of Victoria Environmental Law Centre. He is also a Director for Lawyers Rights Watch.
